About Rita-Ann Freeman

The Voice of Astrology

Rita-Ann Freeman is a fifth-generation astrologer who started studying at age 4, charting at age 9, amateur counseling at age 15, and went professional in her mid-twenties after college — when she became WOMT's resident astrologer. Her show "Astrology Today" enjoyed a ten-year run on the lake shore in Wisconsin's Manitowoc area.

Rita-Ann moved from radio to television in Green Bay, where she hosted her own TV talk show, "The Voice of Astrology," for nearly 15 years. Regular appearances on ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates kept her show #1 in its time slot.

Stage and press

She appeared on stage at UWGB's prestigious Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on July 24, 1995, opening for comedian Rita Rudner. The evening was such a success that she was asked back for a mainstage performance on New Year's Eve 1996. "Starry, Starry Night" at the Weidner Center was also a major success.

Rita-Ann wrote a regular weekly column for the Green Bay Press Gazette — the largest newspaper in Green Bay — and has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper articles over the years. She has spoken and lectured across the central United States.

She appeared monthly on Green Bay's FOX 11 each time the Sun changed signs, and was featured frequently on the regional ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliates. She was also a regular on Green Bay's MIX-FM Dan & Kathy Morning Show, appearing the first Wednesday of each month — bringing her trademark wit and humour to a wide listening audience.

Over those years she authored more than 1,100 weekly columns, covering all 12 zodiac signs across the topics our weekly forecast still covers today: family, love, friendship, career, and finances. That works out to roughly 13,000 individual sign forecasts.

Her astrological framework remains the editorial foundation for the weekly forecasts we publish today. Our current writing, produced under Claudine Savelberg's editorial oversight, deliberately aims for the voice and style Rita-Ann established over those 21 years.
