You may have to use a delicate balance to maintain not only an appeasement for a boss or client but the correct pace for you so you don't screw up or miss something, leading to yet more work for yourself especially if you don't work hourly. If you work hourly, the more you work, the more you get paid — but you should come through for your boss/client. If you work for yourself, it's overhead and lost revenue and a sour taste in your mouth for either the person/pursuit or the risk of leading yourself into a bad attitude that shows.
